Official recognitions as early as 1868 and documentary evidence of 1650 make Valentini the oldest winery in Abruzzo. Equally certain is the presence of Trebbiano d’Abruzzo vineyards in the area, an ancient native variety, at least since 1821. Edoardo and his son Francesco, call themselves "artisan" producers; as opposed to the current trend, which displays countless types and bottles, they do not use barriques but only large barrels, as the best local use wants, and offer only Montepulciano d'Abruzzo (also in the Cerasuolo version) and Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, both with personality unmistakable. Traditional training systems(pergola abruzzese), very low planting density (1,000 / 2,000 plants per hectare), classic vinification without the use of additives and adjuvants, the minimum required sulfur dioxide and then the two constants of the large ones: time and transfer.
Grapes: Trebbiano 100%
Vinification and ageing: biodynamic wine; vinified and aged according to old traditions in oak barrels of 50 hl.
