Saffredi is the icon of Fattoria Le Pupille and born in 1987 from the vineyard planted around Magliano 7 years before, by Elisabetta’s mentor, Fredi, and his dear friend Giacomo Tachis. A wine which owes his birth to the desires and intuitions of Elisabetta, who with the precious help of Giacomo Tachis, wanted to make a great wine in Maremma, a place which until then hadn’t relished in any fame related to the success of its wines. Fredi was never able to taste the fruits of his vineyard, for this Elisabetta decided to dedicate this wine to the grandfather of her daughters. the man who inspired her passion for wine. After its release, Saffredi becomes very quickly the legend it still is today.

Grapes: 60% Caberenet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot.
Soil: mainly sandstone, little organic substance and poor clay.

Vinification and ageing: fermentation at a temperature of 26 ° -28 ° C in stainless steel. Maceration time: 15-20 days. Maturation for 18 months in new barriques for 75% and bottle aging for another 4 months.
Colour: impenetrable and dazzling ruby red, beautiful density in the glass.
Bouquet: exuberant hints of small berries, cedar wood and undergrowth are combined with spices such as cloves, cinnamon, tobacco, leather, china, cocoa and tamarind, finally leaving the step to herbs and herbs mint.
Taste: in the mouth it is penetrating and rich, the round and velvety body involves all the senses with majestic balance. The long fruity persistence and boisé returns, allows you to fully enjoy the aromatic complexity on which the spicy part predominates.
