The Classic Line includes distinguished white and red single varietal wines with fine fruitiness and character. The vines grow at altitudes of between 230 and 650 metres on very different soils throughout the entire wine growing area of Cantina Colterenzio. Significant temperature differences between day and night and aging in stainless steel or concrete vats guarantee fresh aromas and lively acidity.
Grapes: 100% Pinot Noir
Soil: morainal mixed with clay and eroded porphyry.
Altitude and exposure: west facing slopes hill and mountainside sites at an altitude of approx. 400 - 500 m.
Yielding: 52 hl/ha
Vinification and ageing: the crushed grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of approx. 25° C. The skins are kept constantly immersed in the embryonic wine by pushing them down gently. The new wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is refined in concrete tanks and large wooden casks for at least 6 months.
Colour: brilliant medium ruby red
Bouquet: fresh, fruity nose, reminiscent of red currants and black cherry.
Taste: medium-bodied, round with soft tannins and ripe berry flavours well integrated with the acidity. A stylish and elegant wine.
