Malvasia Gilli is a sweet and aromatic red wine with a delicate froth that crowns its bright red color. Obtained by one of the most interesting aromatic vines, Malvasia di Schierano, is characterized by a very particular combination of freshness and density of aromas. It is both fascinating and "easy" to drink, with a low alcohol content(just 5.5 °) and very pleasant, with a winy and fruity bouquet.
Grapes: Malvasia di Schierano and Malvasia Nera Lunga
Soil: gray-blue clay marl
Training system: Guyot
Altitude and exposure: 380 m s.l.m.
Vinification and ageing: stainless steel, natural refermentation in autoclave. The grapes, harvested by hand, are de-stemmed and softly crushed so as not to break the grape seeds which would give herbaceous flavors. The skins and the must remain united during a short fermentation once more to the extraction of the color than to develop alcoholic degrees. The must obtained in this way is filtered and stored at low temperature to keep intact the characteristics of freshness and perfumes. In order to make the bottling it is necessary to complete the fermentation in an autoclave, with the help of selected yeasts, until the must assumes the typical vivacity and 5.5 degrees of alcohol. Before bottling it the wine is micro-filtered, in order to avoid any further fermentation of residual sugars and thus allow an optimal conservation in the bottle
Colour: bright cherry red, with purple reflections.
Perlage: very delicate foam of persistent vivacity.
Bouquet: very distinct forest fruits stand out, along with floral hints of wisteria and iris.
Taste: sweet, fresh and thirst-quenching.
