Glimmer is a South Tyrolean white wine that was born as a reference to the tradition of blending in the vineyards and combines ancient native and modern grapes, the ancient Fraueler grapes of Alto Adige and Müller Thurgau. Glimmer is produced with grapes that come from vines grown between 650 and 800 meters of altitude, on the steep hillsides on the slopes of the Alpine peaks on which the Castel Juval Unterortl estate has placed its 4 hectares of vineyards, all with exposure to South, to receive maximum sunshine during the day. The rocky soils, rich in gneiss and mica, a mineral from which the wine takes its name, heat up during the day and release warmth during the night, while the currents from the North always guarantee constant ventilation, ideal for the health of the grapes. It is the classic wine with an alpine profile, fresh, fragrant, with delicate and slightly aromatic aromas. The vinification in steel only, with a brief stop on the yeasts, contributes to enhance the varietal characteristics of the grapes and the peculiarities of the splendid mountain terroir of the lower Val Venosta.
