Obtained 100% from Friulian Tocai grapes: this Collio white wine is perhaps the most representative and known, but since 2007 it has had to give up the name in favor of Hungary, changing it into Friulano. Mentioned for the first time in the dotal pact of 1632 by Aurora Formentini, a noblewoman of San Floriano, who brought to the groom "vitti di Toccai ... 300", three centuries later (1933) Ernesto Massi will write "the current address of the Gorizia vitivinicoltura tends to favor fine white vines, such as Tocai ». All the time present in the winery, this grape being one of the native varieties of the area.
Production area: Collio - Zavognza, Ruttars and Dolgi Breg vineyards.
Grapes: 100% Friulano
Soil: typical "ponca"
Altitude: from 120 to 180 meters a.l.s.
Training system: Guyot, a mixture of marl and sandstone layered over the millennia.
Yield per hectare: 70-80 quintals / Ha
Vinification and ageing: obtained by soft pressing of grapes macerated for 24-48 hours at low temperatures. Fermentation is carried out in steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Then follows the conservation "sur lie" until bottling.
Colour: straw yellow, bright and brilliant, with citrus reflections.
Bouquet: intense and persistent with strong hints of hay, almond and dry yellow flowers, closing with the memory of ripe golden apple.
Taste: soft wine, but with a well balanced flavor, which guarantees the pleasantness of the drink, with an elegant bitterish aftertaste and an almond aftertaste.
