Gottardi family is originally from Trentino, three generations ago moved to Innsbruck, where he still lives and markets wines. Bruno Gottardi, with the idea of making their own wine, is able to acquire in 1986 a few vineyards in Mazzon: love for Pinot Noir, the vineyards have first level, have led to the birth of the Blauburgunder Mazzon. Mazzon is located above the village Neumarkt in low-Alto Adige. The small hill is known as "the sky's Blauburgunder", and home to the best quality of red wines of Trentino. The altitude, the afternoon sun and the area offer the best requirements that need a Blauburgunder to mature and do so to become among the bests in Trentino-Alto Adige. First produced in 1995. The dedication is total, so that the company until recently, there were also the grapes of Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer, now explanted to make space to the only Pinot Noir. A single wine, but in particular vintages a few bottles in reserve ( maximum 2,000). 9 hectares of vineyard (6.5 to 2.5 more properties for rent, but managed directly), young vines (but no later than 15/18 years of age, planting density of 5,000 / 6,500 plants per hectare, vineyard altitudes from 300 to 400 meters above sea level, mixed terrain (from limestone sands porfidiche). In the winery Bruno Gottardi is joined by his son Alexander, while in the vine works Hans Untersulzner.
