Falkenstein Winery

Falkenstein Winery is situated on the left bank of the Val Venosta, above the village of Naturno, a sun-kissed hillside 650 meters above sea level, the Fortress of the Hawk, where Franz and Bernadette Pratzner, with great dedication and passion, cultivate their farm. What was once a farm and wine has evolved over the years, from 1989 to 2005, in a just winery with 12 hectares of vineyards. On a steep and rocky terrain they are grown Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Noir. For vintage will produce around 90,000 bottles. The farmland extends from 600 to 900 meters slm. Franz Pratzner, a man of great experience in the vineyard, has believed in this project despite the difficulties of a harsh climate and terrain with vertiginous slopes .The plants are thick, dense, up to 12,000 logs, very rare in South Tyrol, but the results seem to bear him out: wines of great finesse, with an eye to the Moselle, for its Riesling and strong minerality for its Sauvignon and Weissburgunder .
