Sancerre is located in the North of France, in the Loire Valley, on the west coast of the river. Along the course of this river, more than a thousand kilometers follow the vineyards that give rise to a variety of wines: a very wide face from east to the west with climates, soils and heterogeneous varieties. Climate is a highly influential factor for quality: in all areas around North Europe the diversity of vintages is very marked. In the mildest vintages, if you can prolong the harvest time, you get whites of great expressiveness and red texture. In case that temperatures and rains anticipate the season, the wines produced may be too hard or too simple. Certainly white grape varieties find their ideal environment under these conditions. In the area of Sancerre there are excellent vineyards (2815 hectares) with plaster and silicon soils, among which the best are Le Grand Chemarin, Chêne Marchand and Clos de la Poussie. The magnificent marc-calcareous slopes of Sancerre, Morogues and Pouilly-sur-Loire are cultivated with Sauvignon.
In France, Vincent Pinard, a family mansion with many centuries of history behind it, was well-known for a long time. Today guided by Florent and Clément Pinard, is one of the best in Sancerrois. Ideas and work in natural vineyard, fresh and superb wines. In addition to the superb range of Sauvignon in all possible shades, they have beautiful Pinot Noir parcels always in contingent. Informal Sancerre of a very high quality level, for those who love variety, does not fear rivals.
