The winery is located in the town of Montalcino and is about 35 km from Siena, in front of the hill of the small village of Siena, surrounded by meadows, olive trees and the beautiful vineyards of Val di Cava, along the extraordinary Eroica path. For over 40 years it has been the only wine cooperative in the area and has about 100 small farms with 160 hectares of vineyards with a majority of the local grape par excellence, the Sangiovese. The company has been recently renovated, with a modern architectural design but in harmony with the ilcinesi hills, with the idea of producing wine in an environmentally and tradition. Over 50% of the winery is underground, as usual, to allow an easier temperature control and energy savings. Much of the needed electricity is independently produced with the help of a photovoltaic system. Waste water is treated with natural aerobic treatment plants, promoting ventilation and oxygenation of mycobacteria, such as degradation agents.
