Cantina Chiara Ziliani winery covers a total area of 22 hectares entirely included in the production area of the Franciacorta DOCG sparkling wine. The cultivated vineyards cover an area of fifteen hectares in the Municipality of Provaglio d'Iseo and present a hilly position with a maximum height difference of 50 meters and an exposure from east to south-west. In order to create a high-quality oenological product, the winery opted for a espalier system with a plant layout of 2 meters between the rows and 0.7 meters on the row, thus achieving a high plant density of 7,100. plants / hectare. This is to ensure through correct agronomic practices (short pruning, low fertilization N, management of the foliage and thinning), a low production by strain: an indispensable compromise to produce a quality grapes and excellent wines.
The choice of the cultivated varieties follows the same purposes and for this reason has been oriented on international grapes, such as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir for the production of sparkling wines and white wines for ageing and, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, for the production of red wines reserve. In the respect of the environment we also follow, in cultivation, phytosanitary criteria with low environmental impact. The winery is a reality in continuous productive growth, thanks to the precise choices made in the vineyard, in the winery and in the commercial field but this does not go to the detriment of quality, which is still quite high. The Ziliani C line, with its millesimates, confirms the strong point of the company production.
