Toro Albalá is one of the Top 100 Spanish Gold Wineries of the 21st century. We are located right in Cordoba’s charming countryside, at Aguilar de la Frontera and Moriles towns. We officially became a business in 1922 when Jose María Toro Albalá started the initial project of the winery we are today.
Our wines are produced with Pedro Ximenez varietal and under DOP. Montilla-Moriles. Antonio Sánchez Romero, oenologist and owner of our company, always keeps in mind his ancestors to exactly preserve the highest quality standards met in the past in wine production.
Our production process is very detailed in method and unique in result. From 1922, Toro Albalá main priority has been to create wines meeting the most important requirement, that is, Quality.
Toro Albala has two main wineries located in Aguilar de la Frontera and Moriles towns. Our facilities in Aguilar de la Frontera date back to the beginning of our business. These are located in a former electric power station, the first one in the area and they serve our offices and winery after having been remodeled in the past.
Our second winery is located in Moriles town. It consists in a building allocated for vinegar production under the solera system. Another section is specialized in creating our fino and amontillado wines, and the final production unit is dedicated to our sublime PX dessert wine. Even today, it seems that time has not passed by for Toro Albalá since the freshness and artisanal nature of our origins has exactly remained the same.
