Located in the Colchagua Valley, near Millahue, the Chilean Viña Vik Winery is an experiential mix of architecture (by Alexander and Carrie Vik with Marcelo Daglio), design, art, wine and wellness. A luxury winery that opens up a new concept of tourism and hospitality. A visual wonder in a unique location: both external and internal museum.

The winery is a show of light and lines: the architect Smiljan Radic has created a structure that is almost entirely underground, therefore with a low environmental impact, but with a roof that collects light. The entrance is covered with water, an aesthetic and functional element that regulates the temperature of the cellar and characterizes its structure; a walkway leads inside where you can take guided tours and tastings. A holistic vineyard that produces world-class wines, per11,000 acres (4325 hectares) in the Chilean natural landscape, with a 360 degree panoramic view of vineyards, valleys, hills, forests and mountains up to 1000 meters with the majestic profile of the Andes on background.

In 2004, Alexander Vik, a Norwegian entrepreneur, proposed the creation of a world-class vineyard to produce a unique wine and and asked the French oenologist, who has been working in South America for about 6 years, renowned specialist and consultant, Patrick Valette, of find the best place in South America to achieve this great dream. The dream then became a great project, mixing natural landscapes, vineyards, a privileged enotourist accommodation and a "work of art" cellar.

The VIK wine-growing concept is based on the optimization technique of each phase of vine growing and wine production, with an important focus on science and technology, adapted to each of the production areas in order to reach the ripening levels optimal in the fruit and to create the best wine. Holistic wine is the result of the magnificent dynamic terroir together with the best viticulture and winemaking practices, excellence in environmental management, the development of human and social capital, as well as architecture and the arts. The VIK team, composed of over 300 people, works daily with precision and love for the land to create magnificent wines. The goal is to adopt the best techniques to maximize the optimal quality of the grapes through cutting-edge technology, maintaining the holistic concept of qualitative perfection. The precision of viticulture is fundamental and for this reason we rely on cutting-edge technology that helps to achieve the goal of maintaining a high density plantation. Planting and selection of varietals and rootstocks have been established after having carried out meticulous studies on the soil, together with meteorological and soil exposure studies. The selected varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Merlot have been planted in many valleys, always seeking harmony between water balance, climate, soil and rootstocks.
