San Patricio del Chañar is located in the heart of Patagonia Argentina, 39 degrees south latitude and 55 kilometers from Neuquén city.
This privileged terroir is one of the world's southernmost wine regions.
The history of this valley begins in the 1970s with fruit orchards that infused life to the area.
In 1990 Julio Viola was the first to vision that, the Patagonian desert had a great wine potential hidden. He began working in the fields of San Patricio del Chañar with one objective in mind: create high quality wines with their own identity, able to seduce the international palate.Julio was responsible for all the area development, by implementing a cutting-edge irrigation system that feeds from Neuquén river, allowing the miracle of life in the desert.
In 1999 the first vines took root in the soil of the valley.
We developed the first wines of this region with the grapes from 2002 harvest, when the plants reached the necessary maturity and balance.
Since then, production has been growing year after year, both in quantity and quality.
