Azienda Agricola I Cacciagalli

Cacciagalli Winery, estate in the northern region of Caserta, is located at the foot of the spectacular, inactive volcano of Roccamonfina, in the land the ancient Romans called Campania Felix, a particularly fertile terrain which continues to yield exceptional products to this day. Diana, a young agronomist who decided to follow non-invasive methods of cultivation to respect the land of my family’s estate and Mario, passionate wine connoisseur, have undertaken that, even before a business project, it is a way of life to share the common passion for wine and the land. The volcanic nature of the soil, mild climate and topography of the area makes it particularly suited for agriculture; hence our land is able to yield an exceptionally high quality product. The terrain is rich in minerals and in particular potassium, which is beneficial to the vines and is also reflected in the quality of the wine produced, elegant, intense, sapid, rich in aroma and flavor. They cultivate 35 hectares, nine of which are vineyards, learning every day how to respect the necessary equilibrium that exists between us and this land. The application of Biodynamic farming allows them to cultivate the terrain, grow the vines and produce our wine with an approach that is completely natural and simple: in cellars they do not use any additives in order to limit the use of sulphur to a minimum.  Fermentations were carried out with wild yeasts and our wines are neither filtered or clarified. The work is also enchanced by the use of "Terracotta amphorae" that allow the wines to maintain their identity and enhance the connection between the grape variety and the terroir.
