Malvasía Volcánica came from the Greek Islands in the sixteenth century from Madeira and has become the main grape variety grown in Lanzarote.

Technical informations

Grapes: 100% Malvasía Volcánica

Soil and vineyards: on European roots planted in soils of ash or "picon".

Plant density: low, between 200 and 800 plants per hectare.

Yield per hectare: between 500 and 1500 kg / Ha.

Vinification and ageing: harvesting of ripe grapes in boxes of 20kg. Gentle pressing, preceded by cooling and selection, without carrying out any action involving rupture, abuse or modification of character (despalillado, pumps, maceration, etc.). The wine does not undergo clarification and is kept on the fine lees throughout the ageing time.


Colour: straw yellow with greenish reflections

Bouquet: intensely fruity, floral and slightly herbaceous impact, followed by aromas that refer to volcanic minerality, almost smoky and salty together, almost a smoked Maldon salt. A delicate and exotic scent of banana, pear, white melon and fresh white fig stands out, almost a mixture for fruit salad, with citrus lemon sprays and fresh mint scents. A beautiful aromatic complexity.

Taste: light and subtle structure, underlined by freshness and sapidity, delicate body and volume, enlivened by a light tingling and a dry, refreshing, fragrant and almost crisp finish. An invitation to serve fresh, if not frozen.
