Production area: vineyards in the Barbaresco and Treiso area.
Grapes: 100% Nebbiolo
Soil: lands dating back to the Tortonian-Messinian period, so-called "Marne di S.Agata fossili". Rich in elements such as manganese, zinc and boron, they are composed of fine particles that tend to form easily erodible laminar layers (marl siltose).
Vinification and ageing: the selected grape has been de-stemmed and crushed. The maceration lasted about 10 days at a maximum temperature of 30 ° C. The malolactic fermentation ended before the end of winter. The aging lasted for about a year in oak barrels of different capacity.
Vintage: 2015 began with a winter characterized by heavy snowfalls that favored an ideal water supply. A spring with mild temperatures allowed an advance of the vegetative cycle that was then maintained in the continuation of the year. Since the second half of June the rains have been absent and temperatures have stabilized above the average until the end of August.
The long hot period has not influenced the ripening of grapes in the slightest, thanks also to the water reserves present in the soil. The harvest began in early September with Arneis and Moscato, continuing with Dolcetto and Barbera to finish with the Nebbioli at 30 September.
All the grapes were excellent from all points of view both as health care and the different analytical parameters
Colour: garnet red with good intensity.
Bouquet: complex with hints of red fruit and spicy notes.
Taste: full and velvety taste with a lingering aftertaste.
