The presence of the vine in Valpantena sinks its origins far in time. In fact, just the sweetness of the wine combined with the taste of the products of the valley seems to have seduced, according to the Roman historian Floro, first the Cimbri and later the Romans, who believed that the soil of Valpantena was ideal for growing grapes , they intensified the deforestation and planted vines.
Valpantena in Greek means "Valley of the Gods", but in the Veronese tradition it has taken on the meaning of "Valley of all wines". In the heart of this valley located north-east of Verona, the Valpantena Winery Verona operates, one of the major wineries in the area.
