The vines are a cross between Riesling Renano and Sylvaner and were first created by Hermann Muller, a native of Thurgau, Switzerland, for which the grape was named in his honor. From Switzerland the variety was introduced in Alto Adige and then Trentino and Friuli. The wine is fresh, lightly aromatic, elegant and pleasant.
